smooth soft-shell turtle

Andy spotted this guy the other day and it was still there when I took this picture- it's pretty rare! I don't know what particular species is, in the USA there are three species of soft-shell and 9 subspecies. My best guess is the smooth soft-shell turtle, Apalone mutica.

Wild Turkeys

I spotted this rafter of turkeys (or a raffle of turkeys) on my way home the other day. Turkey families aren't so rare- I just couldn't believe how many chicks they got to that size!
