At Mobot the other day there were friendly pairs of ducks. This little guy spent about 15 minutes flirting with Daniel and I. His lady must not have laid her eggs yet, because he was sticking right by her side. (interesting tidbit: mallard drakes have one of the highest percentages of homosexual activity among birds (Wiki).) After about 10 minutes of photos this duck stretched out his wing and put up one foot. It was supposed to put our attention on him, I'm sure, but I'm not sure if he was trying to distract us with the old 'look at my broken wing' trick or if it was some other kind of display. What do ya'll think? Distraction or Display?
